Live Nation reveals ‘a criminal threat actor’ offered to sell Ticketmaster data on the dark web, while reports say hackers demand $500,000 for customer information



Living country is investigating a data breach at Ticketmaster subsidiary,dominates ticket sales for live events in the United States.

Live Nation, based in Beverly Hills, California, said in a legal filing Friday that on May 27, “a criminal threat actor” offered to sell Ticketmaster data on the dark web.

Other media reported that a hacking group called ShinyHunters claimed responsibility for the online forum breach and demanded $500,000 for data said to include names, addresses, phone numbers and some personal details. credit card details of millions of Ticketmaster customers.

Live Nation and Ticketmaster did not immediately respond to requests for comment.

In a filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, Live Nation said it is “working to minimize risks to users” and is cooperating with law enforcement officials. It said the breach is unlikely to have a “significant impact on our overall business.”

May 23, US Department of Justice sued Live Nation and Ticketmaster,accusing them of illegally monopolizing live events in the US. The department asked the court to dismantle the system, which it said would limit competition and drive up prices for fans.
