In a meme, Zomato apologized to the people of Delhi-NCR

As air quality in Delhi and surrounding areas deteriorated, memes mocking pollution took over social media. While struggling residents are venting their frustrations on social media, brands are also taking the opportunity to express their creativity through one-on-one letters and cheeky memes. . The latest comes from food delivery app Zomato, which posted a funny but concerning meme for the people of Delhi-NCR.
In a tweet on November 7, Zomato apologized to the people of Delhi-NCR because their ‘chicken’ order would taste smoky. Why? Due to polluted air. Zomato wrote “Sorry Delhi-NCR, our chat support can’t help if your chicken is delivered as smoked chicken”, along with a crying emoji.

The post has garnered over 12,000 likes along with 815 retweets to date. While some users joined in and shared their pollution-related woes, some didn’t find the joke funny.

A thick layer of smoke blanketed Delhi as its air quality deteriorated to “very poor” on Tuesday due to calmer winds. Air quality is forecast to worsen over the next two days due to unfavorable meteorological conditions, PTI reports. The capital’s 24-hour average AQI stood at 348 as of Tuesday morning, according to data from the Central Pollution Control Board.
