Zomato’s New Feature: Order Food Online Today and Get It in 2 Days
Zomato has unveiled a new feature that allows customers to schedule their orders up to two days in advance. Announced by founder and CEO Deepinder Goyal, the service is now available in Delhi NCR, Bengaluru, Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Chandigarh, Lucknow and Jaipur.
Service available at selected restaurants
The order scheduling feature can be used for orders above Rs 1,000 at around 13,000 restaurants in these cities. Goyal explained that the restaurants were selected based on reliable stock levels and consistent kitchen preparation times.
Expansion plans are underway.
In a social media parcelGoyal noted that the selected cities were chosen because of the restaurants’ historical reliability in maintaining high food availability and consistent cooking times. He also mentioned plans to expand the feature to more cities and restaurants, regardless of order value.
The announcement received positive feedback from users on X. One user praised the feature, saying, “Always thought this was a pretty important feature missing from an otherwise great app. Thanks! Been a Gold member and a regular user for as long as I can remember. Good luck.” Another added, “This is why I’m more loyal to Zomato than any other app! Zomato is GOLD in itself.” A third user highlighted its usefulness, saying, “On days when the chef is on vacation, I can schedule my lunch before I go to work, which helps me avoid forgetting to order due to meetings.”
