YouTuber charged with sexual assault in Australia
British rapper and online personality Yung Filly has been charged over alleged rape in Australia.
Real name Andres Felipe Valencia Barrientos, he is best known for his work with YouTube’s Beta Squad and has presented shows on BBC Three.
He was arrested in Brisbane on Tuesday and was extradited to Perth the next day to attend trial.
Barrientos, 29, was arraigned on Thursday and had his bail application approved. His representatives have been contacted for comment.
The full charges include four counts of sexual penetration without consent, three counts of assault causing bodily harm and one count of obstructing a person’s normal breathing or circulation by applying pressure to or onto their neck.
It is alleged he took a woman in her 20s back to her hotel room when he performed in Perth last week at nightclub Bar120.
The attack is believed to have occurred on Saturday, September 28.
He was represented at Perth Magistrates Court by barrister Seamus Rafferty SC, who applied for bail on Barrientos’ behalf.
The 29-year-old, who is in Australia touring his music, has also appeared in the UK on Soccer Aid on ITV and The Great Celebrity Bake Off for Stand Up 2 Cancer on Channel 4.
