Twitter user Meer Asif Aziz responded to Rowling’s tweet by writing, “Don’t worry you’re next.” Aziz’s Twitter bio describes him as a ‘student, activist, political activist and research activist’.
In response, Rowling wrote to Twitter officials with a screenshot of Aziz’s death threat. “@TwitterSupport any chance of getting support?”, Rowling tweeted along with a screenshot of the threat.

Rowling later confirmed that police are now involved in the matter, as they have made other threats. “To all sending messages of support: thank you
Police are engaged (have engaged in other threats),” she said in a tweet.
It was noted that Rowling had previously been targeted by a number of transgender activists for gender opinions.
Meanwhile, her new novel ‘The Ink Black Heart’ written under the pseudonym Robert Galbraith will be published on August 30, 2022.
