Smart devices, threshers and figurines
25-year-old Hekma Jabouli from Syria won first prize with a short film showing a home-made smart device designed to help her sister regain mobility after shrapnel damaged her marrow. living.
John Wobil, 27, from Ghana, came in second for his video of the new thresher, while digital designers Li Binglu and Cai Qunge, Chinese nationals living in Japan, came in third with their story of creating new pictograms or emojis. to create connections between remote workers.
Youth innovation potential
Highlighting the fact that half of the world’s population is under the age of 30 and is the fastest growing population group in many parts of the world, WIPO Director-General Daren Tangspeak that “young people are working on solutions to shared problems, powered by IP [intellectual property] rights such as trademarks, patents, designs, copyrights and others that help people make a living from their work”.

Comprehensive intellectual property ecosystem

Competition
A panel of judges created a shortlist of 20 videos from nearly 150 submitted videos, which will then be taken from April 12 to 22 for an online public vote garnering 36,819 votes. .
