We know April Fools’ Day makes it hard for us to trust any game related announcements as they will likely be fake (Not that our hands are also clean), but this is a really legitimate gag. Innersloth is joining the fun by making an old joke come true: The Horse Mode in Us.
Just for today, this free update turns the crew mates of Between Us into galloping four-legged versions of themselves. The idea stems from a screenshot of the hypothetical concept posted in a tweet last April, posted below.
More than just a joke, these space-faring stallions also feature a “bubble” sound effect recorded by one of Innersloth’s programmers and a unique Imposter kill animation. However, horses can only wear visors and hats. If you’re still wary, I’ve started Between Us myself and can confirm this is real.
Innersloth says Horse Mode will go away on April 2 at midnight UTC, which is today at 8 p.m. ET. So if you’re feeling upset (whatever that means), you’ll want to get some friends to jump into this sooner.
