‘You are my hero’: Anupam Kher tells Mahima Chaudhry in a touching video as she breaks down as she reveals her ordeal with cancer
“I called #MahimaChaudhry a month back from the US to play a very important role in my 525th film #TheSignature. Our conversation turned to her finding out that she has # BreastCancer,” he captioned a video of Mahima that he uploaded to the social media website.

“I don’t have any symptoms”
“I do my own yearly tests,” Mahima told Anupam, adding that she did an Ultrasound, a blood test every year.
During the ultrasound examination, she was recommended to contact an oncologist.
Precancerous cells
When she went to the oncologist, she was told that the cells looked precancerous, meaning there was a 50-50 chance that the cells turned malignant.
She then went for a biopsy and her report was negative for cancer.
“But I still want to take it out”
Despite reporting negative for cancer, she asked her doctor to take it out, she tells Anupam in the video.
She said: ‘After taking it out, they found very small pieces of cancer cells in it.
Then the doctor suggested that she undergo chemotherapy.
Mahima revealed that she broke down when she heard about chemotherapy even though her sister comforted her that it was 100% treatable.
“I learned from women”
She said she learned from all the other women she met at the hospital who had the same cancer as her. She told Anupam that seeing those women go about their daily lives with ease greatly motivated her.
‘I have fully recovered’
