Yes, the Marvel vs Capcom Battle Collection is getting a physical release
The fighting game community was surprised during the latest Nintendo Direct broadcast with the reveal of Marvel vs Capcom Fighting Collection: Arcade Classics.
The bundle will arrive at some point this year for Switch, PlayStation and PC and contains seven classic classics including Marvel vs Capcom 2: New Age of Heroes. Of course, there have been some questions about the physical version and we have some good news for die-hard fans.
Kotaku senior reporter Ethan Gach reached out to Capcom, confirming that a physical release is on the way to Switch:
“Capcom PR just confirmed to me that Marvel vs. Capcom Fighting Collection will have a physical release on Switch as well as PS4.”
A listing on Nintendo’s official Japanese site also notes that the Switch release will be available as a “package edition” in rough translation (thanks for your interest, HammerGallade Brothers).
Capcom has released previous fighting collections (incl Capcom Fighting Collection and other titles like Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection) is available locally. The same news confirms a physical version will also be available on PlayStation 4 in 2024.
