Xbox’s Grounded Adds Gyro Aiming to Switch in Latest Update
After the advent of backyard sandbox play Grounded on Switch earlier this year, Obsidian has now released a new update for the game that includes a number of improvements for Switch.
The most notable update to patch 1.4.4 includes the addition of Gryo aiming controls. Additionally, Microsoft accounts are no longer permanently linked. Along with all of this comes a number of major bug fixes and more. Here’s the full rundown, courtesy of the Grounded website:

Fixes / Changes
General changes:
- Login/Archive/Join error shows more information on error popup.
REMIX.D Stadium – Changes:
- Reduces damage multiplier taken by all creatures in New Game+ by 33%.
- 50% reduction in spider infusion is added during the Hedge Broodmother boss fight.
- MIX.Rs no longer spawn with double or more creatures than the standard campaign. Instead, they only increase by 10% per New Game+.
- Reduced the AOE of the Mint Infused attack applied to the player when hit. Reduced the number of single shots that can occur when playing multiplayer while grouped together.
- Some late game characters no longer trigger the blood transfusion attack when attacked. (Hint: he really needs a Billy Hog right now.)
Optimization:
Nintendo Switch:
- Added Gryo aiming control function. (Can be enabled/disabled in the Options screen).
- The four leaf clover cave displays correctly on Switch.
- Cutscenes are less choppy.
- Microsoft accounts are no longer permanently linked. You can sign out and sign in to a new Microsoft account as many times as you like for each Nintendo account.
- Note: It may take up to 15 minutes after unlinking for a new account to be linked.
Major bug fixes:
- Fixed a crash that clients could encounter when repairing buildings.
- Fixed a crash that could occur when using the charged bow attack with Sleek Bard’s Tudor armor and Sleek Fire Ant.
- Fixed a crash that could occur when loading a save while raising a pet.
- Fixed a random crash that could occur.
Other bug fixes:
- Arcane Archer’s status effects now trigger correctly.
- Customers who join Remixed Yards and have a lower Milk Molar score than the server will no longer illegally receive double Milk Molar bonuses.
- Activating creature cups, gongs, or termite swarms near ladders will no longer make the annoying noises they did before.
- The “Gotta Peep Them All” achievement will be activated if the last card you collect is a gold card.
- Several fixes related to joining games and crossplay.
- Fixed a crash that could occur when downloading your own Playground.
