WR Antonio Brown removes waivers, becomes a free agent

All-star award recipient Antonio Brown can now sign with his NFL team of choice ahead of the upcoming knockout round. It is unclear if any clubs will have him this winter or if he will be able to play in a single game next month.

As Michael David Smith of Pro Football Talk explained, Brown removed his immunity and became a free agent on Friday, a day after the Tampa Bay Buccaneers officially rescue talented but seemingly struggling in seven Pro Bowl picks and less than a week after he darted off the field in the middle of last Sunday’s win at the New York Jets.

Buccaneers head coach Bruce Arians announced Thursday that Brown’s actions at MetLife Stadium occurred because the 33-year-old with a long history of off-field incidents was annoyed by the lack of goal. However, Brown has said that the ankle he first injured in October was too traumatic to allow him to continue fighting Gang Green, and The Athletic note that he indicated earlier this week that he will undergo season-ending surgery and is set to return to action later this year, before or during the 2022 campaign.

Anyone can guess whether Brown can make it through a gym or a Super Bowl contender would consider him a low-risk, high-reward buy-in considering all that happened. out in just the last five days. All that’s really known on Friday night is he’s available if any team wants him.
