MUMBAI: A 42-year-old woman jogging died on the spot after a speeding car hit her Worli Sea Face early Sunday morning.
According to police, the accident happened near Worli Milk Dairy around 6:30 a.m.
The woman identified as Rajalaxmi Ram Krishnana resident of Dadar Matunga area.
According to eyewitnesses, the impact was so strong that the woman was thrown several meters into the air and died from a serious head injury.
Rajalaxmi is the CEO of a technology company. She is a fitness enthusiast and regularly jogs. Rajalakshmi was among the runners from Shivaji park and the group regularly jogged on Sundays.
Her husband, also a runner, was at Shivaji Park when he received a call from the police and his wife’s colleagues that his wife had been in an accident and asked him to come see Worli.

The driver of the Tata Nexon electric vehicle was identified as Sumerian merchant (23), inhabitant of Tardeo. Sumer and his friend were walking towards Shivaji Park to drop their female friend when the accident happened.
The merchant who has been booked in various parts by Worli police will be brought before the holiday court in Dadar.
Witnesses told police the vehicle was traveling at a very high speed.
Police are still undecided on the IPC sections and have sent him for a medical examination to check if he is under the influence of alcohol.
