World Of Warcraft: Dragonflight coming soon
What’s in the sky isn’t a bird, a plane, or Superman: it’s World of Warcraft: Dragonflight expansion, will be released at 11pm GMT, 3pm PST and 12am CET. WoW’s latest expansion brings a new area, a new class, more dungeons, and yes, dragons. Lots of them. Fill your boots. Riding them, even. Show them around town. Take them home. One day wake up next to them and feel like the magic is gone, you know?
You’ll go to the Dragon Islands, discovering cliff waterfalls along the coast, beautiful forests, pleasant planes, and mountain temples. You can get through all of that on dragonback, with a customizable dragon and an entire skill tree dedicated to flying faster and longer. New class/race can turn in a dragon, albeit a pathetic land-bound dragon.
Flying reminds me of diving as Batman in the Arkham Game: it’s all about diving then pulling up to convert velocity into forward momentum, though I’m not sure the exact techniques What role does that dragon riding ability play? Anyway it’s much more enjoyable to walk around.
There will also be a raid, though you’ll have to wait until December 12 for the raid to begin. More details can be found on Blizzard’s website.
With perfect timing, Ed and Liam just launched Inventory Space, a new series of videos that delve into whether massive live service games can fit into your life, and if so, like. how. The first part is all about their attempt to get to the end of World Of Warcraft, which it’s worth noting that they don’t.
I saw a Tweet The other day about how if you want a dragon to look scary you draw it in a cat pose, and if you want it to look cute you draw it in a dog pose. These are the first dragons I’ve seen since, and the trailer isn’t really illustrative either, but if you find an in-game example of this, please let me know.
You can buy Dragonflight from Battle.net for £40/$50/€50.
