Wordle’s desktop site now redirects to the New York Times
We knew this day would come, but it still feels weird to have to say goodbye: the site that originally hosted Wordle – https://www.powerlanguage.co.uk/wordle/ – now points to the house Its new permanent is https://www.nytimes.com/games/lodle/index.html.
In addition to some minor UI changes for a better grid with the clean, spacious design language of NYTThe Games section, Wordle is identical. In fact, if you’ve played today’s puzzle, you’ll find the solution remains the same on Gray Lady’s domain – and if you’ve been a desktop solver all this time, there’s Candlestick retained (although that doesn’t seem to be the case for everyone). However, it’s strange that Wordle hasn’t appeared on Games yet Landing page.
However, the original Wordle page hasn’t redirected on mobile yet, if you’re hoping for one last spin.
Wordle launched last October as a once-a-day word puzzle game, partly inspired by Times‘The Spelling Bee Game. After becoming widely known, its creator – Josh Wardle – sold his game to its spiritual guardians for an undisclosed amount in the “low seven.” It is believed that the game will remain free to play despite the change in ownership.
