Karly Blackburn wanted to send a resume that could be eaten on a cake to sports company Nike because they were having a big celebration. “They’re not currently recruiting for any positions on that team, but I wanted to find some way for the team to know who I am. What better way than to send a cake to a big party. I’m brainstorming. with her former colleague,” she wrote in the post.
She then recounted how a woman named Denise Baldwin delivered her cake, who had to make sure it arrived in the right hands and was seen by everyone involved, not just left at the front desk. . Blackburn writes of her delivery executive: “Denise navigates the Nike campus, all while holding a sleeping child and a 1/2 sheet cake in the other.”

“Delivering the cake that day inspired one person. And maybe this post will inspire more people. Helping people realize their potential is what I love to do. At the end of the day, it’s not about the cake. It’s about making things happen and taking outside opportunities,” she concluded.
Posts about edible cake resumes have gone viral across platforms. On LinkedIn, it has received a lot of praise from professionals around the world who have appreciated the idea of creativity. One user wrote: “You just have to do what you can to get your foot in the door. Persistence will pay off.” Others criticized the woman for submitting a pastry resume without notice. Another user said: “The cake was almost certainly thrown away carelessly because people don’t just get food from strangers at a big corporation.
