Woman run over by Vande Bharat train near Anand in Gujarat | Ahmedabad News

ANAND: A 54-year-old woman has died after being run over by the Vande Bharat Express semi-high-speed train through Mumbai near Anand railway station in Gujarat on Tuesday, Railway Police said.
An official here said the victim, identified as Beatrice Archibald Peter, was crossing the tracks when the crash happened at 16:37.

Peter, a resident of Ahmedabad, appeared to be visiting a relative in Anand, he added. The train is on its way to Central Mumbai from Gandhinagar Capital Station. It has no end in Anand.

The official added that an investigation is underway.
On September 30, Prime Minister Narendra Modi issued the flag to kick off the train’s first run. There have been at least three deaths of cattle on the tracks after being hit by a train in the past month.
