Woman arrested after three children stabbed in Huddersfield | UK News
A woman has been arrested on suspicion of murder after three children were critically injured in a stabbing in Huddersfield.
Police officers were sent to a house on Walpole Street in West Yorkshire town at around 8:02 a.m. this morning following a “report of concern” from the ambulance service.
Two boys and a girl were found seriously injured in the home.
The wounds are believed to have been caused by edged weapons.
The children were taken to hospital where they are continuing to receive treatment.
A woman was also taken to the hospital with serious injuries.
DCI Sam Freeman of the Homicide and Primary Investigation Team (HMET), said: “Investigation is underway into an apparently serious and distressing incident in Huddersfield and we fully appreciate it. concerns it will cause to the local community.
“Detectives are conducting investigations to determine the exact circumstances of what happened and an arrest has now been made as part of those investigations.”
Chief Inspector Rebecca Calpin, of Kirklees Police, said: “Reassurance patrols are ongoing in the local area by officers from the Huddersfield neighborhood police squad and will continue throughout the day as officers Kirklees officials work to support colleagues from HMET.”
