Will Smith visits The Lakers & Poses for rare photo shoot – Hollywood Life

Will Smith is returning to the game after Oscar’s controversial slap March. The 54-year-old actor posed for pictures with the Los Angeles Lakers on October 26 after giving a speech about overcoming hardships for which the team thanked him on their official day Instagram Page. “A big thank you to Will Smith, who joined the group to discuss strength through unity, and Practice gratitude during times of great testing, “Captions read. “All themes in his upcoming masterpiece, Emancipation.” In the picture, seen hereWill grinned as he stood with the team and held up a yellow Lakers jersey with his last name embroidered on the back in purple letters.

Pictures followed by others show Will firing some rounds, posing with the Lakers owner, Jeanie Buss, and grin at a series of glittering NBA championship trophies. Will also share a slideshow of snapshots from the visit and a video in which he reminds fans that he hasn’t forgotten about Philadelphia, his hometown. “I’m delighted, you know, to be here, you know, with all their trophies and it’s important to say there hasn’t been a trophy since 1983, okay? Okay, because that’s the year that Julius Erving led the Sixers to victory,” he laughs. “I’m here to support, but you all know what I’m talking about.” Of course, the Sixers are Philadelphia’s professional basketball team.

“Sent a peek at #Emancipation to @lakers and had a GREAT chat about their Genius Series movie… big thanks to everyone who watched!! Next stop… my @sixers,” Will captioned the post. Emancipation is Will’s upcoming Apple TV+ series, in which he plays Peter, a black man who escaped slavery during the American Civil War.

Just two days before Will’s visit to the Lakers, he posted a selfie with some of his friends and fellow celebrities who came to support him during the special preview of the film, as shown below. “EPIC Night!! Thanx for coming to see #Emancipation. Hope you will like !! “he wrote before tagging Dave Chappelle, Rihanna, Tyler Perry, Kenya Barris, A $ AP Rockyand more.

In early October, Will spent some time promoting the film and admitted it was a very impressive role for him. “This is the hardest movie I’ve ever made. Blood, Sweat & Tears… ALL! ” he wrote on Instagram together with a Excerpts of the movie. “Thanks to Apple, who doubled (and tripled) their commitment to bringing this epic story to the world.” Emancipation will stream on Apple TV+ on December 9.
