Malik Scott, coach of Deontay Wilder, expressed his opinion that the ‘Bronze Bomber’ will beat the unified champion, Oleksandr Usyk, in a couple of rounds.
Once Wilder’s former rival and later one of his companions, Scott became the Alabama heavyweight’s head coach for a three-way fight with Tyson Fury.
The 37-year-old showed definite improvement after his second bout with Fury, despite the defeat, meaning Scott has kept his position long.
After a year out of the ring, Wilder and Scott reappeared on stage with a brutal showdown. first round knockout against Robert Helenius and was looking for a title.
As of now, the belts remain tied, with rumors of an undisputed title fight between Fury and Usyk prepare for March. Wilder has been called to fight Andy Ruiz Jr for a mandatory WBC spot challenger, which means he could find himself fighting the Fury-Usyk winner in the near future.
In an interview with Kate Abdo, Scott revealed he believes Wilder will beat Usyk in a few rounds, despite admiring the Ukrainian’s undeniable technical ability. Why? Because he can get hit.
