But why we don’t see the LED blinking when looking through the eyes? That’s because the flicker happens so quickly, that is, the electrical frequency changes in very short periods of time, making the flickering imperceptible. Mankind look.
Let’s go a little deeper to understand this phenomenon better. So the LED works on Alternating current AC, and one cycle, i.e. 1Hz, is when an electron moves in and out, and the bulb goes out twice. So AC generally operates at 50Hz (60Hz in the US) globally, which means an LED bulb will turn off and on about 100 to 120 times. And it’s so fast that humans can’t see this with the naked eye. However, the camera clicks the image of the lights going off and on in cycles, thus displaying a flash on the camera.
How to prevent the LED from flashing on the camera
Flickering is annoying and most of us want to get rid of it when recording video. First, you can try adjusting the shutter speed in multiples of 50 or 60 i.e. 1/60, 1/120, etc. You can also try reducing the brightness of the light source or keeping it away from the source until flashing stops. There is no permanent fix for it but you can try using your camera or light source to minimize the flicker as much as possible.
This is how you can change fps on webcam
Open Settings, then click System.
Now increase the screen brightness under Brightness and Color.
Open the Camera app to check if the flicker has decreased.
If not, open Display Settings.
Click Advanced Settings, then Graphics Settings.
Now click on Troubleshoot and change the settings.
Select None under Hardware Acceleration and click Ok to confirm.
