Why Bill Maher doesn’t feel guilty about flying on a private jet
Hollywood eco-warriors often use private jets to get from Point A to Point B.
However, that hypocrisy, rarely mentioned in the entertainment press. That’s why soldiers keep going, despite climate change experts who are against the carbon emissions of private jets.
Bill Maher is self-aware enough to see the hypocrisy going on. He just couldn’t help himself.
HBO talker shared his reasons for using a private jet with guest Dana Carvey on the latest show podcast “Random Club”, premieres December 4. Carvey, the “Saturday Night Live” legend behind Garth (“Wayne’s World”), The Church Lady and others, shared classic stories with Maher tied to the their program business day.
Carvey’s memories of acting alongside Mickey Rooney are worth listening to alone.

Close Comics has considered working together in the future, with Maher luring Carvey to join him on a tour in Hawaii.
“So do it before you die, or I die,” said Maher, referring to the late Gilbert Gottfried as an example of a peer caught too soon.
The podcaster sweetened the deal by vowing to have a fun-filled private jet experience.
“I’m sure I should feel guilty about it, but I don’t. I say this now, the only people who don’t like privacy [jets]who can’t [fly them],” Maher said. “Anyone can, except Greta and a few others. And we’re not really doing anything, I don’t see, as a group of people to solve this problem. We keep talking about it, but we don’t really do anything.”
Maher suggests he swears refusing private jets would have a microscopic impact on the climate, especially if he’s the only one making the sacrifices.
“I just don’t feel like me adding this will make a difference. And we either do this as a team. You know, I’m not going to be a moron, not enjoying my life,” he said.
“Everybody who has been on a private jet knows that. We all get that,” Carvey said, teasing Maher.
The “Club Random” host mentioned Greta Thunberg, the teen activist who blames her parents’ generation for pushing us into our current situation.

Maher adapted that story.
“I also think she doesn’t represent her generation, who like to blame us. ‘You ruined the world!’ Well, like you other, like you don’t drive. Yes, he was always with Greta on the sailboat. You’re using the car as much as we are, so shut up! You know what, we all decided we were going to drive through the Grand Canyon and have a great time along the way. And as long as that’s what we’ve decided, I’m not going to be the idiot driving a three-legged car!”
