Who is Demsey McKean? The Australian prepares to face Anthony Joshua Next

Australian heavyweight boxer Demsey McKean has hit the headlines this week as a potential contender for Anthony Joshua’s return to the ring.
McKean’s name has long been mentioned in conversation with others like Otto Wallin, even mentioned by promoter Eddie Hearn as a possibility, however, recent attention from both TalkSPORT and combat disciple The podcast has led fans to believe that the undefeated heavyweight is the frontrunner.
The Brisbane man is a former partner of Joshua, and called him out to fight last year following a knockout win over Patrick Korte.

McKean has a perfect record with 22 wins, 0 losses and 14 knockout matches. He is 32 years old and currently holds the IBF Inter-Continental Heavyweight belt.
Despite returning to the pro scene in 2014, he was never scheduled to play in the twelfth, with any win excluding injury time coming within ten innings.
According to the rankings, McKean is 10th with the WBO and 11th with the IBF, but does not feature in the top 15 of the WBC or WBA.
He has twice competed abroad – once in the US in 2021 and once in the UK last year against Ariel Esteban
