When it snows, it blizzards in Buffalo

The Buffalo Bills have lost two games in a row and could lose a home game this weekend regardless of whether they’re on the wrong side of the scoreboard after the Cleveland game. The NFL is exploring the option of relocating the competition due to a forecast of frequent 3 to 6 feet of snow in Orchard Park, New York this weekend.

The collective response of NFL Twitter is excitement because everyone enjoys a bad weather game. Watching professional athletes play a game made for kids like kids — bad throw, slip, fumble, dog hit — makes you feel better about yourself.

Wednesday night’s MAC-tion gave us a taste of thrilling football, and you can’t tell me the sport sucks to watch in conditions like in Mount Pleasant, Mich.last night.

Pre-Thanksgiving Christmas decorations aren’t very popular in my house, but this guy’s use of a Santa costume seems appropriate.

The caveat is that the storm may clear when the game starts in Buffalo, and the only thing that can’t happen is that the teams and stadium staff can’t make it to Highmark Stadium.

What does the forecast really say?

From Thursday night to Saturday morning, a chance of snow ranges from 100 percent to 90 percentwith one foot or more expected tonight and Friday, and a meager 8 to 12 inches predicted Friday night.

There is (relatively) less snow forecast for Saturday night and day (1 to 4 inches in total) and only occasional showers on match day. So it might not even be the intense blizzard, poor visibility aesthetic I at least crave.

I understand commuting after a blizzard is discouraged and the only vehicle on the street must be a plow, but the good-natured Buffalo people are used to walking through meters of snow. Though I don’t have an effective solution for the logistics of clearing fields – or stands – lacking an army of shovels and dump trucks.

The silver lining is that they won’t be able to erase all that smooth wet and wet things (if they choose to go that route). So there’s still plenty of ammunition left for the Bills Mafia to celebrate their skirmishes with snowball fights.

Where can the Browns-Bills game be moved?

The reason could be to change the location instead of pushing the match to Monday as it did before, according to the report, is because the Buffalo is privileged to destroy the Lion on Thanksgiving this year. And even the NFL thinks three days of rest isn’t enough.

Due to the short one-week duration, the Bills’ upcoming trip to Detroit and an empty Ford Field when Dan Campbell and Co. is in New York on Sunday, so that seems like where the game could be headed.

I understand what the league is thinking; I just don’t agree with it.

We are given a snow game in Buffalo every season. It is a tradition in winter. The NFL drops that just like Ron Burgundy turned down the monthly KVWN Channel 4 pancake breakfast and we’re all Champ Kind.
