Meta is gearing up to roll out its signature Bitmoji-like avatars to its instant messaging app, WhatsApp. The feature will first reach a randomly selected batch of beta testers on Android as part of an upcoming app upgrade 2.22.23.9, according to a report. A new category called ‘Avatars’ is supposed to appear inside the app on the settings menu. Users are supposed to be able to customize their avatar on WhatsApp, and they’ll have a bunch of auto-generated stickers. Sooner or later, these avatars are expected to roll out to the wider user base for WhatsApp in the coming days.
