WhatsApp was recently spotted working on a new feature. allows users to share images in high quality or original quality. Currently, images sent via WhatsApp are reduced in quality and detail because the application automatically compresses them.
According to one report by WhatsApp development tracker WABetaInfo, WhatsApp is working on a new feature that will allow users to send photos in their original or high quality. Currently, WhatsApp automatically compresses images sent in chat to save space and bandwidth. Images sent via WhatsApp lose quality and detail. Users will be able to choose the quality of photos they want to send. The report says there will be an option to send them in their original quality, along with automatic, best quality and data saving options.
The update tracking site has also shared a screenshot of the upcoming feature where a WhatsApp image is shown to have a Photo Quality option in the Settings icon. This feature will only be available to Android users. There is no word on the feature that will be added to WhatsApp for iOS and desktop. It’s also unclear when the feature will roll out to beta users for testing.
Meanwhile, instant messaging apps have also roll out ability to share voice status updates to select beta testers who have updated the app to version 2.23.2.8. Users can post voice notes of up to 30 seconds in their WhatsApp Status updates. This feature shows up in the text status section.
