WhatsApp is testing this new feature with Android beta users
As reported by WABetaInfo, WhatsApp’s new ‘document annotations’ feature is rolling out with Google Play Beta update version 2.22.22.7. The report also includes screenshots revealing how the feature works (currently only available to Android beta testers).
WhatsApp’s ‘annotate documents’ feature on Android beta: How it works
According to the report, this new feature will allow users to include annotations while sharing documents. Android users will be able to find a “comment bar” that they can use to attach comments to any document. The comment bar will appear whenever the user tries to select a document.
This feature can be useful because documents that come with annotations are easier to search and find. Currently, this feature is only available to a select number of beta testers and Meta It is expected to bring this feature to more Android beta users.
More recently released WhatsApp features
As mentioned above, WhatsApp recently started testing an optional Premium subscription for business accounts to make it easier for customers to reach businesses. This new subscription is available to both Android and iOS beta users.
By participating WhatsApp Premium plan, businesses will be able to link up to 10 devices. Furthermore, the user can also unsubscribe from the plan at his discretion. The feature is expected to roll out to all business accounts soon.
In addition, WhatsApp is also testing another feature that prevents users from taking “screenshots” of single view images and videos. This feature is currently being tested for iOS beta users.
