WhatsApp Call Link feature ‘starts to roll out’ to these Android users
WhatsApp call link The feature is currently rolling out to some beta testers on Android. Facebook-parents Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg recently announced a feature that allows users to set up calls by creating direct links to both audio and video calls and join an ongoing call. At the time, he said that the instant messaging service would have the feature in a week.
WABetaInfo, the company that tests WhatsApp features before they are rolled out to the general public, has announced that the WhatsApp Call Link feature has started rolling out to users on WhatsApp beta for Android (version 2.22 .21.13). The WhatsApp Call Link feature will work on other video conferencing apps like Google Meet, Launch and Microsoft Teams. These apps also use the same link sharing process for video calls.

When you create a link for a call, you can choose a call type (voice or video) and the call will automatically be converted to a group call when more than two people join the call. These call links will expire after 90 days. WhatsApp currently allows up to 32 people to join audio calls and up to eight people to join video calls. The company tested video calls with up to 32 participants.
While announcing the Call Links feature earlier this week, CEO Zuckerberg didn’t reveal which operating systems will get the feature first. With this development, it is confirmed that the feature will come to Android users first. It remains to be seen when it will be rolled out to iOS and Windows users as well as WhatsApp Web.
