WhatsApp Business Beta users are motivated to link Facebook, Instagram accounts to reach more users

WhatsApp Business has started testing a new prompt that asks users to link their Facebook and Instagram accounts to reach more users. The Meta-owned instant messaging app is pushing beta testers of WhatsApp Business to attract new customers through an in-app banner. For starters, the banner is reaching some beta testers on Android and is expected to roll out to iOS testers in the coming weeks, according to a feature tracker.
According to details shared by feature tracker WABetaInfo, the new banner requires WhatsApp Business users to link Instagram and Facebook accounts have started showing up on the latest beta version of the messaging app for Android phones.
Banners prompt users to link their Instagram and Facebook accounts to “bring in new customers” by promoting their businesses on both platforms.
According to one report with feature trackers, cross-platform banners can help, Meta is expanding the use of Instagram and Facebook advertising to drive users to WhatsApp Businesses.
Early October, Meta report a total advertising revenue is Rs 16,189 crore in India for the financial year. This marks 74% growth year-on-year, according to the company’s recent filing with the Registrar of Companies (RoC).
Last week, WhatsApp started rolling out support 1,024 members on group chats, support 32 member group video calls. The company also started rolling out the much-awaited Community feature.
Back in May, the platform was also spotted working on status reply indicator that users will see when they receive replies to their status updates. However, Meta has yet to announce a release schedule for this feature, the feature is still under development.
