WhatsApp begins testing the ability to share up to 100 images, working on the ability to send high-quality photos
WhatsApp has started rolling out the ability to share more image files at once in a chat for some beta testers. The Meta-owned messaging service has also been spotted making an update to allow sharing of high-quality images over chats or photos to keep the original quality intact. According to a report, the company was previously working on a similar update for its Android and iOS apps, and it is now working on the same for its desktop version as well.
WABetaInfo . Feature Monitor report that the company is rolling out WhatsApp beta 23.3.0.75 for iOS, allowing some testers to share up to 100 media files at a time. The previous app allowed users to share up to 30 media files at once in a single chat.
A higher number of file sharing features are now available for some WhatsApp beta testers and the platform is expected to release it to other users soon. The post adds that some users may get this ability after updating to version 23.3.0.73 or 23.3.0.74.
in other report, an app development tracker claims that WhatsApp is also working on allowing users to send photos “in original quality” on the desktop version of the app. It was before report that the company is working on similar capabilities for its iOS and Android apps.
WhatsApp now compresses images sent in chat to save space and bandwidth. Images sent via WhatsApp have reduced quality and detail. Therefore, users prefer to send images in document format to preserve the original quality. However, this format does not provide a preview.
Unlike the ability to send hundreds of images at once, the feature to send images without compression or loss of quality is still in development and not available for testing at this time, according to WABetaInfo. However, the post did share a preview of the aforementioned feature.
By tapping on the gear icon located in the drawing tool header, users will be able to submit high-quality images. They will be able to choose the resolution of the photos they want to send using this method. In addition to the initial quality setting, users can also choose from data saving, best quality, and automatic, feature tracker options.
