While I enjoyed it all Mario Role-playing games are, to some extent, my favorite games to date Mario & Luigi: Bowser’s Inside Story. Bowser is a fun character, especially when he plays the reluctant hero. Having one of the main characters opposed to a silent protagonist means there will be more dialogue, and when the writing is as good as in Mario & Luigi game, it’s a win. The balance between Bowser’s external adventures and Mario and Luigi’s internal struggles makes for a more varied adventure and an ending sweeter than a bite of Peach’s cookie. — Shaun
My personal favorite Mario RPG is original Super Mario role-playing game. This was my first time trying an RPG side game and it remains my favorite to this day. I loved Squaresoft’s spin on the Mushroom Kingdom, and the remake only makes the game better to play. It feels very lively and is full of fun characters, engaging locations, and turn-based combat that’s dynamic enough. However, if I had to pick a runner-up, I’m a sucker for a good GBA RPG. Mario & Luigi Superstar Saga It’s very nostalgic for me and the vivid image still lingers to this day. It would be a close second place for me. To be honest, though, I really need to dig deeper Paper Mario games, because I feel like I should love them. — Cody
