AMC Entertainment Holdings Inc. outlined plans this month to issue a special dividend, sending the company’s stock soaring and arouse enthusiasm among the company’s passionate individual investors.
The movie theater chain’s shares are up more than 30% since the plan was announced on Aug. 4, while short sellers betting on the stock have lost more than $500 million.
