βThe ball bounced off the wall and hit a young girl in the nose. Immediately, I went straight to the hospital and saw her with a bloody nose and bloody clothes,” Gayle, who represented RCB for seven IPL seasons from 2011 to 2017, told the former Indian tennis player. Robin Uthappa from ‘Home of Heroes’ on JioCinema.
“She was like, ‘why are you sad? Don’t worry, hit six more!’ She helped me feel better by telling me that even when she was in pain, she wanted me to hit six more,” Gayle said on the show.
“It was a touching moment. The next game, every fan had a placard that said ‘please break my nose’, so I could go to the hospital to visit them.”
Besides RCB, Gayle has also represented Kings XI Punjab and Kolkata Knight Riders in IPL.
