As part of the Post-Breed Care Coalition’s one-month Holiday Gifting Campaign, the Thoroughbred West Point has pledged to match all donations up to $5,000 made to TAA on December 12.
The Thoroughbred West Point, renowned for its gold standard in partnerships and track success, also emphasizes high standards in its initiatives and after-sales care responsibilities. Two months after reaching the pinnacle of racehorse ownership—thanks to Longines Breeders’ Cup Classic (G1) winner Flight route —West Point Purebred aims to raise funds for the industry’s most expansive aftercare funding solution, TAA.
West Point Thoroughbred CEO Erin Birkenhauer said: “The Thoroughbred Postcare Alliance is an initiative we all need to support. “A large portion of racehorses are not destined for breeding stalls, but that does not mean their health is no longer our responsibility. Due diligence is performed by the TAA and its accredited organisations. they saved the horse’s life, it saved the King Congie, and we at West Point are proud to support this important work.
“TAA was established to ensure aftercare organizations operate to the gold standard and fairly distribute the benefits that we, as an industry, need to provide. A donation to TAA will support so many horses in need. It’s as simple as that.”
Stacie Clark Rogers, TAA operations consultant, said: “The importance of including after-sales care in your business plan is extremely important. “West Point continues to demonstrate the value they have for their equestrian athletes and we are delighted to include them in our Holiday Gifting Campaign.”
TAA’s Holiday Gifts campaign began on November 29 and is scheduled to end on New Year’s Eve. Those wishing to support the TAA, its 81 accredited organizations, and thousands of Retired Purebreds can donate through TAA’s website or text DONATE to 56651. During the Holiday Giveaway Campaign, TAA also offers donors the benefit of sending digital holiday cards to colleagues, friends and loved ones.
Throughout the year-end, the Thoroughbred Aftercare Alliance will continue to host special one-day fundraisers featuring some of the biggest names in horse racing.
