Wendy’s employee charged after killing elderly customer with punch

An employee of Arizona Wendy has been charged with murder after punching an elderly man for complaining about his orders, with a massive blow that resulted in the man’s death.

Antoine Kendrick, 35, was working at a site in Prescott Valley on July 26 when the incident, captured on CCTV, occurred, according to Newsweek.

Shocking video shows Kendrick walking behind a service counter and confronting the 67-year-old man before he punches a customer in the head.

A police report said the man died from his injuries.

“A customer complained about his food order, at which point Wendy’s employee, Antoine Kendrick, came out from behind the counter and hit the customer on the head. The client fell to the floor, hit his head and lost consciousness,” police said, Fox 10 Phoenix reported.

Surveillance video of the incident is currently circulating on social media.

The client, who has not been named, was completely caught off guard by the punch, and seemed oblivious to Kendrick as he allegedly loitered towards him.

The customer rushed to the hospital by helicopter, where he later died

Authorities said Kendrick then took his belongings and walked out of the store as if nothing was wrong, the now viral video shows. The client was airlifted to the hospital in critical condition and ultimately died on Friday, August 5.

Police did not provide additional background information about the deadly confrontation, as the surveillance video did not contain any sound. However, one customer described the punch as “Mike Tyson’s hit.”

“Oh, that was a pretty heavy hit – it was a Mike Tyson hit,” said one customer.

Another customer said the old man had never touched Kendrick so he had no right to lay his hands on the customer.

“The client doesn’t touch him, so he has no right to touch the client, stage, end of the story. I just thought it was horrible and wished it hadn’t happened. It casts a bad light on our entire society. “

Wendy’s employee charged with murder after client died of trauma

Kendrick was initially charged with aggravated assault, but the charge was later elevated to second-degree murder after the victim’s death, according to ABC15.

The victim has yet to be named publicly on Wednesday, but is described as a Dewey resident.

Wendy’s has yet to issue a statement or comment on the matter.

In an equally tragic case, a McDonald’s employee died days after being shot by an angry customer’s son, allegedly for cold fries, Shade room reported earlier this month.
