Welfare and Safety Summit will be live stream

Sarah Andrews

The 10th Welfare and Safety of the Equestrian Conference, scheduled for Wednesday, June 22 at the Keeneland sales booth, will be streamed live via links on the Grayson Jockey Club website and The Jockey Club. The event is co-hosted by The Jockey Club. The previous summit was held in June 2020 as a virtual webinar series due to COVID-19.

The event will begin at 8:20 a.m. ET and run until about 5 p.m. ET. Is it free but open to the public? Topics on the agenda include updates to the Horse Injury Database, presentations on preparing 2-year-old Thoroughbreds for racing, equestrian weights, wearable technology for horses and the use of positron emission tomography scanning.
