Weekend Warriors – Crossing the Multiverse

Here in Minnesota, where many Game informant employees are based, the weather is starting to warm up. No more cold days and colder nights, and most importantly, no more snow! We had a pretty good week, with Star Wars Day puts the force on TuesdayJay Guisao reviews Switch Sports (read it here), and the biggest news of the week: Square Enix is selling off most of its western studios for the ever-growing Embracer Team. After this weeklong whirlwind, we’re ready to close our laptops and enjoy the sun and warm temperatures, or drop into a cool, dark movie theater and watch the horror. Which emperor is in the Marvel multiverse.

Here’s what GI staff have planned for next weekend:

Alex Stadnik – I’m so ready to start and talk about this mess about how I’m not going to play games this weekend because of how great it is to be in Minneapolis. But then my friend Joe “King” Iverson got me into this little game called Rogue Legacy 2. Since then, I’ve spent the night on it and plan to continue that trend into futures weekend hours. Outside of that, I might find a Dr. Strange showtime, and I’m going to celebrate my mom and grandma on Sunday. Hot: Mom is great.

Wesley LeBlanc – I had a pretty packed weekend planned, and sadly, not much of it was going to include gaming. When I get a chance to go back to the controller, I’ll probably continue working my way through GTAV. I just played through the Trevor torture quest, and wow, uhhh what the heck. That’s a lottttttt, ha. My grandson, who just started playing video games last year, has a soccer game tonight and I’m going to surprise him with Luigi’s Mansion 3 because he’s been wanting to play it, so will Very neat. Also, I hope to go to theaters to check Madness’s Multiverse! I’m worried that someone will screw it up for me, so I hope to see it asap! Hope you have a great weekend!

John Carson – I must have brought West Coast weather back from LA because it’s beautiful outside in Minnesota this weekend! I’ll be taking the time to visit a brewery this weekend to do some magic with my Magic Commanders team, pick up the Xenoblade Chronicles again, and spend some family time on Mother’s Day on Sunday Japan. Oh, and I’ll give it a try Dr. Strange At some point!

Jill Grodt – I still have a lot of work to do, but I’ll probably go back to Loot River for a few more laps. I’m sure it’ll just be a quick session. I absolutely wouldn’t look up and realize hours had passed. No. That never happened.

Brian Shea – This weekend, I’ll be in quarantine after close contact with COVID, so I’ll have plenty of time to play games. I’ll be doing the 22nd MLB The Show, along with my performance of Kirby and the Forgotten Land. I’m in the middle of my Star Wars review, so I’m in the mood to kick off the Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga.

Alex Van Aken – This weekend, I begin my arduous journey to my new apartment. However, it’s only three blocks away, and I’m happy to live in the same hallway as Alex Stadnik. However, I have almost a month left to move house, so I plan to spend my spare moments playing games! I’m having a great time playing Overwatch 2’s Technical Alpha, and immerse yourself in all the character changes, new maps, etc. Sojourn, the newest DPS hero, is a blast. I especially love her ability to switch from sliding power to high jump. Finally, I plan to keep experimenting with Blender and Unity 3D.

Marcus Stewart – Tonight, I’m opening a gate to my local theater to see Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. Once I’m from the pinnacle of what’s certain to be a superhero adventure, Elden Ring will likely go on to completely overtake my weekend gaming plans. I am in 120 hours and continue to make important new discoveries that require my attention. If I can drag myself away from the Lands Between long enough, I’d love to try some more Loot River and Rogue Legacy 2 footage.

What the hell are you going to encounter this weekend? Are you crammed into a packed movie theater to see a new Marvel movie? Will you celebrate Mother’s Day? How much time will you spend outdoors in great weather if at all this weekend? Let us know your plans in the comments section below!
