Weekend Warriors – A loving farewell on a shady weekend

This weekend has been a bittersweet day as we are saying “for a long time” to an organization of Game informant. Today marks the last day at our publication for Director of Online Content, Street Comedian and Detective Bizzare Ben Reeves, and we will miss him so much. This won’t be the last time we see Ben in games, though, as he’s moving into another area of the industry and becoming a Narrative Designer at Firaxis. I’m sure I spoke on behalf of all the staff when I said we love him and will miss him, but more importantly, we can’t wait to see what he’ll do with his new gig. So while letting us know your plans for the weekend in the comments, share Ben Reeves’ best wishes and favorite moments to see him off right away!

In other weekend sales, the Elden Ring is finally available, and if you haven’t heard yet: it’s super good! I predict that will be a pretty popular topic for our crew and readers alike. See what GI staff can do over the next 48-72 hours or so:

Ben Reeves – Well, since it’s my last day at GI, I’ll just pack my bags and try not to cry. Luckily, I have the Elden Ring to really give me something to cry about. I guess Horizon will have to keep waiting. Thank you to everyone who has read and followed my content over the years. For an outstanding reel, check out my recent Twitter thread.

Andrew Reiner – When I’m not doing social things, all my time is spent with the Elden Ring. I’m in for five hours and was blown away by the amount of freedom offered. My girlfriend and I are also going to start a murder mystery puzzle, which sounds intriguing, but we really don’t know what to expect from it.

Jill Grodt – I’m sure I’m not the only one with this planned this weekend, but the coming days are all about the Elden Ring. I can’t wait to ride my spirit steed through the Midlands and see what the open world Souls game will be like. I didn’t manage to get to the end of the Forbidden Horizon West or capture every monster in Pokémon Legends: Arceus as I had hoped, but at least I know I’ll have the game to jump into if I ever need to unleash my fury. rage. Can’t beat a tired boss.

Margaret Andrews – I will continue my romantic journey with all the robot dinosaurs in Horizon Forbidden West. With a weekend I feel like I’ve barely touched the surface of this massive game and I can’t wait to unlock more skills and find out why the west is banned? If I can piss Kim and Kristin off, maybe we can get some Fall Boys this weekend too (or maybe more accurately describe how horribly they laugh at me in the game). play it; really, it doesn’t make any sense because I’m good at video games, to be honest!). I also hope to finish my current reading in time for the release of VE Schwab’s new book next week, Gallant.

Alex Van Aken – I’ll just be playing Elden Ring this weekend. I’m into the game 35 hours and still hooked. Nothing else exists. Elden Ring forever.

Wesley LeBlanc – It’s the Elden Ring all weekend, baby! I created the perfect swords together with the Prisoner Class. But like, who can resist that awesome metal helmet? Not to mention, Prisoner made the perfect background for me to play as a pirate thanks to the glass shard-like weapon that was originally used more like a fencing weapon than a traditional medieval sword. . I can also mention some other plans I might have, like eating or finally watching The Cuphead Show, but let’s be honest: this weekend is all about the Elden Ring. See you in Limgrave, you’ve been blurred.

Dan Tack – Elden Ring.

John Carson – My adventure into the Midlands has officially begun! After spending seven hours streaming with my professional Souls instructor, Dan Tack, I’m ready to go solo for the Elden Ring live fights all weekend. Somehow this week I managed to make time to watch the first half of Heir season one (I still love it so far), which I’ll dive into more of when I need a break from throwing myself at Elden bosses.

Brian Shea – I’m traveling this weekend, but I bring the Switch. I’ve continued to fill up my Pokédex in Pokémon Legends: Arceus, but I’ve also started a new installment of Sonic Mania. I ended up downloading Moncage on my phone to do the viewing angle puzzle.

Alex Stadnik – This weekend, the games will actually have more of an afterthought. I’m waiting until I return from vacation next week to fully bask in the glory of the Elden Ring. Instead, I’ll be interested in something I like to call writing. Project Hail Mary, Andy Weir’s sci-fi novel, has consumed many of my free hours with the gripping story of a lone astronaut trying to save the earth alone, and I can’t wait to do so. finish it. I’m on the part where [REDACTED]. Aside from my fiction pursuits, I don’t know if you’ve heard, but it’s Oscar season, and I’m doing my best to see all of the Best Picture nominations before the big March screening ( despite the academy’s terrible decision not to air some of the most important category winners like best editing). My goal is to take down The power of the dog and Don’t look up, but that’s the beauty of the weekend. Even if that doesn’t happen, I think I will have two wonderful days with friends and loved ones.

Now it’s your turn! What are your plans this weekend? Will you also venture into the treacherous open world of Elden Ring, or are you working on some other notable February release that we’ve been spoiled with? Let us know in the comments below!
