‘We got cheated’: Lakers fume over missed foul call in loss to Celtics
The Los Angeles Lakers were furious after match officials admitted they were fouled in a potentially win-win situation in LeBron James’ game against the Boston Celtics, leaving their opponents to win the game. extra time 125-121 on Saturday.
With the game drawing at 105-105 and 4.1 seconds remaining, James tried to break through the Celtics defense but was fouled by Jayson Tatum, denied two points from the Lakers veteran and threw a free throw.
James and the Lakers were shocked when calls for fouls were ignored as the clock ran out while Patrick Beverley was even technically fouled when he brought a photographer’s camera into the field to show The referee looks at evidence of a foul.

“You saw my reaction,” James said. “It is a challenge. I don’t understand.
“You’ve seen some games where we lost with missed calls late in the game… I don’t see that happening to anyone else.”
Celtics finally sealed the victory in extra time at TD Garden despite James’ attempt to score 41 points put him 116 points behind all-time leader Kareem Abdul-Jabbar.
“The more you try not to start playing, the harder it becomes… The NBA’s best player can’t get the call. It’s been fantastic,” Lakers coach Darvin Ham told reporters.
James’ teammate Anthony Davis said not calling was “unacceptable.”
“I assure you that nothing will happen to the referee. We were scammed tonight. It was a blatant foul… The referee played badly tonight,” he said.

“At that time, during the game, we didn’t see any fouls. The crew missed the play,” Lewis said.
