The police watchdog has launched an investigation into how a UK force handled sexual abuse claims made against controversial social media personality and self-proclaimed misogynist Andrew Tate.

The Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) has confirmed it is scrutinising Hertfordshire Constabulary’s management of reports submitted by three women, following the closure of their case in 2019, which had been under investigation for four years.
