Watch Red Bull Driver Sergio Perez drive to the Miami GP track
The Miami GP is just a few months away and the lap was supposed to be nearing its end, but Red Bull’s Sergio Perez had to preview the track a bit earlier. This is another of the Red Bull Road Trip videos in which one of the drivers has to go a long way in an F1 car and gets into some trouble along the way, meeting other Red Bull athletes. Obviously it’s promotional material, but it’s all a lot of fun, I suppose.
In it, the premise is that Sergio Perez is in New York City doing some R&R, then gets a call from team boss Christian Horner. A misheard detail in the conversation led Checo to believe he needed to go to Miami the next day, and hopped on his Red Bull machine, which appeared to be a 2013 RB9 with a current livery installed and shipped it. to Florida. After fooling around the city, he finally found his way out and ran south. It’s so much fun, you should watch it.
Upon arriving in Florida, Checo met champion surfer Parks Bonifay, who kept the Red Bull race car unhindered by a Red Bull racer, then did a bit of barefoot skiing behind the bike. F1 car, this sounds absolutely amazing to me. When I was much younger, I was a surfer and Parks was the coolest MF alive in my eyes. I never expected to see him in an F1 video, but it’s great to see him play a major role in this one. Like peanut butter and chocolate, Checo and Parks.
When he got to the track, Checo snuck into the lap and made a few laps were still under construction, before parking it at the 50-yard line of Dolphins Stadium. I mean, it must be a fun day at the office for Checo, right? Maybe Red Bull will let Tua Tagovailoa drive the next car (yes, I had to google Dolphins QB, I’m not athletic).
