A rare 2021 Lamborghini Aventador SVJ Roadster caught fire after colliding with another Lamborghini recently at Long Island, New York state. The crash pushed the Aventador toward the main median of the road, where it burst into flames and eventually burned to the ground, leaving only ashes behind. The driver of the Aventador, Dix Hills resident Bryan Salamone, suffered some minor injuries.
There is not much evidence of what caused the crash but according to the Lamborghini Registry (TLR) on Instagram, witnesses said Salamone’s Aventador SVJ roadster was hit from behind by another Lamborghini while both were trying to merge into the same lane.
The Melville Volunteer Fire Department was notified of the accident, after which first responders encountered a fully engaged vehicle and an injured patient. The fire department then responded with additional units, and the fire was completely extinguished.
Salamone was later airlifted to Stony Brook University Hospital with burns and other minor injuries. He was pulled out of hell by one man while another pressed on his wound. The department shared the update on its Facebook page, where one commenter wrote, “Thanks to the Melville fire department. The driver of the Lamborghini is a good friend of mine.”
Photos shared by the Melville Volunteer Fire Department on Facebook show the condition of the vehicle after the fire was extinguished and the vehicle was barely in any shape. Only the wheels of the car manage to maintain most of their shape. Other photos from the crash show the wreckage of the vehicle.
In addition to the other Lamborghini involved in the crash, an Acura model was also damaged. Salamone was the only one injured.
