Warriors’ Steph Curry is done hearing from doubters

Steph Curry’s new nickname, The Petty King, feels full of excitement. He is on MVP duty after this Finals to appeal to everyone who has ever looked down on him. Great, man, your legacy is as pristine as they come. Why doesn’t this character appear before his long-awaited Finals MVP, when you’re still vulnerable?

The latest person to feel Steph’s wrath is Mike James. He’s spent four years in the league, including a year at Golden State, and has been in the news this week leaving Curry off his top five list. He has the guts to call Curry one-sided.

Well, Petty King caught that information, and responded at a basketball camp.

I know it’s cute or whatever, but unless Kevin Durant learned this behavior from Steph, there’s been a King of Petty, and he’s got credit accounts to prove it. Durant doesn’t just react to the tiniest of things, he’s for kids with both bins full.

There’s a certain level of bullshit that KD has not accepted since he embarked on a life of social killer, and his tolerance seems to be getting shorter and shorter. Any day, he will start harassing people for using OMG and LOL in verbal conversations.

Honestly, if we really want to talk to Petty King, Larry David is the great emperor for all time. An account that writes anonymously to tell scammers who comment on your tweets to fool themselves sounds like a great premise for an episode of Control Your Enthusiasm.

Smallness is not a trait you develop. It’s ingrained in your DNA. No tweets, synthetic quotes, sideways glances or offenses perceived as unquestionable.

If Curry wants to call himself petty royalty, or crown prince of pettiness, or partly petty with petty abilities, that’s okay. But the emir? I’ll have to see more than a reference to a G-diver after he dropped you from his top five list.

Curry should have opened the press conference with, “I’ve been at camp for two weeks, and I’ve felt like I’ve been on the team with these kids longer than Mike James.” Or, “Mike is also a one-way player, but his one-dimensional is playing basketball.”

If there’s a decent master’s class, I’m not even sure Curry is one of the top seven choices to teach it.

What do you say about a bicycle kick by Lionel Messi?

Paris Saint-Germain began their Ligue 1 title defense on Saturday as if they were running unnecessarily. In a massive 5-0 loss to Clermont Foot, Lionel Messi tried to evade his boredom by raising the difficulty level.

What does this mean for the title race? When I have Clermont Foot infection, how do I get rid of it? I have no idea. I just thought it would be fun to watch Messi stage his reverse bike kick.
