Warren Buffett’s Berkshire Hathaway buys another 5.8 million shares of Occidental (NYSE:OXY)
Berkshire Hathaway (NYSE:BRK.A) (NYSE:BRK.B) resumed the purchase of Occidental Petroleum (NYSE:OXY) shares, raising his ownership in the oil company to ~22%, one SEC filings shows third.
Warren Buffett’s company paid ~$355 million for nearly 5.8 million random (OXY) shares in a series of trades on Fridays, Mondays, and Tuesdays, with prices in the $59.80-$61.90 range, according to the filing.
Berkshire (BRK.A) (BRK.B) now owns 200.2M Occidental (OXY) shares worth $12.2 billion based on Tuesday’s closing price of $60.85.
Buffett’s stock will generate ~$144 million in annual dividends, after (OXY) increase payout announced last month.
Berkshire (BRK.A) (BRK.B) also owns Occidental (OXY) preferred stock as well as warrants to purchase another 83.9 million shares of common stock for $5 billion.
