Colonial Downs will offer a record more than $600,000 in average daily wallets and an extended staking schedule for its upcoming meeting in 2022, which begins July 11. The meeting features six additional race days in this year.
The betting schedule is highlighted by the $300,000 Virginia Derby and $200,000 Virginia Oaks on September 6. The Maiden special weight class races in the meeting will carry a $60,000 stake.
As a bonus, again all holders will be guaranteed $1,000 per start or their pocket and all trainers will get $300 per catch head as recognition for participating in every race, every day.
