‘Virat Kohli should retire from T20Is’: Shoaib Akhtar gives bizarre advice after India beat Pakistan in T20 World Cup | Cricket News

NEW DELHI: The Old One Shoaib Akhtar praise Virat kohli for his memorable innings on the men’s team T20 World Cup against arch-rival Pakistan, albeit in a different way.
The former Pakistani track and field athlete has taken a surprise decision on Kohli regarding the career of the star T20I smasher, advising him to take a break from competing in the shorter format of the game.
“He came back with a bang. I want him to retire from T20I because I don’t want him to put all of his energy into T20I cricket. With the same commitment as today, he could score three. century in ODIs,” Akhtar said on the Youtube Channel.

Akhtar, who supported Kohli during his lull, called it the ‘biggest’ performance of his life.
“When you’re down, confidence has to be revived and when confidence is strengthened the character improves and Virat Kohli is an embodiment of the same thing,” Akhtar said.
“He played the biggest rounds of his life. He was able to play knock-out because he had faith and his guts,” he said.
Akhtar, who played 46 Tests and 163 ODIs, also praised the Pakistani team’s efforts.
“Pakistan did a great job. Don’t be disappointed, you all played really well. India played really well… they won one of the best games in history. It was a complete game. It’s got it all… Akhtar says on his YouTube channel.
“The World Cup has just begun, the World Cup only begins when India-Pakistan play and the two teams will face each other again. Pakistan will meet India again, then in this World Cup.”
