US Olympic figure skater Vincent Zhou has withdrawn from the men’s singles event after testing positive for COVID-19.
Zhou, 21, announced her withdrawal in an emotional and sad Instagram post on Monday.
“It seemed pretty far-fetched to all the people that it was going to happen to myself,” said Zhou. “It’s not just because I’m still processing this turn of events, but also because I’ve done everything in my power to stay COVID-free since the pandemic started. I’ve taken all measures. possible precaution. isolating myself to the point where I’ve felt lonely for the past month or two has been devastating at times.”
