Max Verstappen won his eighth race of the 2022 Formula One season, beating Lewis Hamilton by almost 8 seconds at the Hungarian Grand Prix. He is currently 80 points ahead of second-placed Charles Leclerc in the driver standings.
Verstappen, 24, needs five wins in the last nine races of the season to reach the record for most wins in a season. Michael Schumacher won 13 races in 2004 and Sebastian Vettel won that record in 2013.
On Sunday, Verstappen started in tenth and drove across the court, but turned in lap 42, shortly after overtaking Leclerc for third.
