Vermeulen will appeal the 6-month ban

Coach Fabrice Vermeulen, who was banned for six months by France Galop for allegedly falsifying ownership records for dozens of horses in his care, chose to appeal the decision, Jour de Galop reported on Thursday. Half of the sentence is enjoyed in five years of probation.

“I appeal the decisions because I don’t understand them, quite simply… I think it just [a] Vermeulen said.

Vermeulen’s assistant Jeremy Para, who was given a one-year ban with six months of probation, did not appeal Thursday night. Para’s company, SAS Le Marais, is currently banned by France Galop from owning racehorses. Le Marais allegedly appeared on Vermeulen’s bills when he demanded unpaid training money from one of his owners, Laetitia Louis.
