when 2022 ends. A Wall Street trading strategy called “Dogs of the Dow” calls for buying the 10 highest-yielding stocks in the Dow industries by the end of the last trading day of each year. The idea is to increase profits, but also bet on the possibility of bounce, as the most productive people are often among the worst performers of the year. In Friday afternoon trading, Verizon had a dividend yield of 6.67%, Intel’s 5.58% and Dow’s 5.57%. That compares to the implied dividend yield for the S&P 500

is 1.77%, according to FactSet. Meanwhile, shares of Verizon have lost 24.7% in 2022, Intel is down 49.2% and the Dow is down 11.3% while the Dow industrials is down 9.3%. Among the Dow components that don’t pay dividends, shares of Boeing Co.
