Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance launches June 14 on PS5 and PS4 - full details on enhanced gameplay

Combat system

SMT V: Vengeance introduces a wealth of new skills from 270 new and familiar demons, including the powerful new Magatsuhi Skill. These uniform skills are unlocked after receiving a new amulet called a periapt, which outlines the skill and the demons needed to use it. Gather these demons as your allies to command tactical advantage in battle: unleash terrifying attacks, improve your chances with support skills, or bestow healing effects save your team’s lives.

Stronger skills mean stronger enemies – explore the apocalyptic world known as Da’at and encounter fiery red enemies known as Magatsuhi demons. These enemies are stronger than your average demon and will hunt you down if you’re not careful! Win and you’ll be rewarded with higher amounts of Macca, EXP, and even stat-boosting Incense. Be wary, because unlike regular enemy encounters, these demons will use ferocious Magatsuhi Skills.

As a reward for our passionate fans, when certain conditions are met, the level cap will increase from 99 to 150. Additionally, upon completing specific quests, The game will unlock Godborn’s punishing difficulty mode, with all Enemy demons are now level 150 – a challenge that will test the prowess of even the most hardened SMT veterans.

The battle system has also received various updates and adjustments, such as being able to use magical skills in auto-battle. These system updates and new elements will be applied to Canon of Vengeance and Canon of Creation.

New demon experience

Players can now control individual demons in special side missions. In these missions, players will guide the actions of a demon, such as fan-favorite Alice and Pixie, as well as new characters like Nahobeeho, to complete a variety of non-combat missions. around different locations throughout the game. These quests help players better understand an area using each demon’s specific skills to explore and allow players to spend more time with their favorite demons. They also allow players to better understand demons and their personalities, especially their thoughts on humans. After completing the quest, the demon can become your new Demon Guide!

SMT V: Vengeance also adds more ways to interact with demons through a new feature called Demon Haunts. Here players can enjoy special conversations with demons, friends, and even Aogami to improve Nahobino’s abilities. Get new rewards and level up through chats, even take a nostalgic photo of your favorite demon or ally with the free camera mode (only available in Demon Haunts). Talking to your demon team members will also increase their stats, so be sure to return to these safe areas to chat regularly and create an unstoppable team!

Larger field exploration

Map exploration has been enhanced by including elements such as Magatsuhi for fast travel, sky view for a wider view around the area, and a full unobstructed map view obstructed by an Abscess that previously blocked the path. Magatsuhi Rails offers shortcuts and opens up more areas to explore than the original, including secret locations that can only be discovered by rail. The Canon of Vengeance storyline includes all-new locations in Da’at, and we hope players will feel amazed as they explore the vast Shinjuku Ward and the mysterious Shakan dungeon.

Traveling through Da’at is never a chore with Quest Navigator by your side, and with a growing number of friendly allies, we know you’ll find the perfect companion to accompany you on your journey. his epic journey. Investigating the Netherworld is even easier with the addition of two support features to Quest Navigators: they now leave vapor trails to track their movements, and waypoints will emit a column of light from where they were discovered for the first time. Reading the map is also easier with additional unique icons and quest markers.

New accessibility features

There have been dozens of small updates and modifications to make things more interesting and accessible, such as increased relic pickup range, the ability to read instructions at any time, gaining initiative even when detected by enemies by attacking them from behind, reduces ambushes from aerial enemies, increases the number of Miracles (which have various positive effects), and further strengthens and a variety of actions when encountering demons.

Finally, there are two big changes from the previous game: the ability to save anywhere on the map instead of limited leyline sources, and Estoma, a shield to avoid enemy encounters has been updated from a skill to Miracle, allowing players to use Magatsuhi instead of MP, freeing up a valuable skill slot.
